Carlo Cracco — Galleria

The Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, built to a design by Giuseppe Mengoni between 1865 and 1877, is one of the most visited protected monuments in Milan. In 2018 the spaces overlooking the Octagon, spread over several floors, reopened as the restaurant of Carlo Cracco, inaugurated on 21 February 2018 to a project by Studio Peregalli (Laura Sartori Rimini and Roberto Peregalli).

Within this project RIVA carried out, between 2018 and 2019, the restoration of the building’s historic decorated surfaces, with gradual cleaning, consolidation and integrations compatible with the original materials, under the requirements of the Soprintendenza.

The work accompanied the new use of the spaces without erasing the nineteenth-century layers of the Galleria.
