Casa Galimberti — Milan

Casa Galimberti

Casa Galimberti, at via Malpighi 3, is one of the masterpieces of Milanese Art Nouveau: designed by Giovanni Battista Bossi and built between 1903 and 1905, it has been a listed monument since 1965. The façades are clad with about 170 square metres of polychrome majolica by the Società Ceramica Lombarda, painted by Pio Pinzauti for the ornaments and Ferdinando Brambilla for the figures, and with wrought iron by the Arcari e Bellomi workshop.

RIVA carried out the conservative restoration of the façades and, in particular, of the majolica: cleaning of the ceramic surfaces, consolidation and reintegration of the damaged portions, recovery of the wrought iron and of the decorations, respecting the original materials and colours of the floral style.

The façade works were directed by the architect Nicoletta Giudici.
