Monte di Pietà

The Monte di Pietà of Milan was founded in 1482 by Ludovico il Moro and gives its name to the street and the block that keep its memory in the heart of the city.

In 2019 RIVA restored the interiors: the frescoes, the decorated surfaces and the historic elements, including a statue.

The works combined stratigraphic investigations, selective cleaning and consolidation, to preserve the traces of the palazzo’s different phases without flattening them.

The work is documented on the firm’s historic website among the restorations of frescoes, sgraffiti and mosaics.
