Palazzo Orsini — Milan

Palazzo Orsini

Palazzo Orsini, at via Borgonuovo 11, was begun in the second half of the seventeenth century by the Secco-Borella family and inhabited from 1662 by the Orsini; the courtyards date from the late seventeenth century, the interiors and grand staircase are by Luigi Canonica with frescoes by Giovanni Antonio Cucchi and Andrea Appiani, and the present façade is by Luigi Clerichetti (mid-nineteenth century). Since 18 September 1996 it has been the headquarters of Giorgio Armani S.p.A.

Since 2015 RIVA has been working in the palazzo in collaboration with Armani: the conservative restoration of the inner and outer façades and of the frescoes of the halls, including the oval hall with its coffered dome and the vaults with medallions.

Selective cleaning and consolidation restored legibility to the eighteenth-century decorations, which remain in use in the rooms reserved for haute couture.
