Palazzo di Piazza Lavater 2

The corner building at piazzale Lavater 2, in the Porta Venezia district, keeps under its eaves a sgraffito frieze with putti and candelabra, one of the best-preserved sgraffito decorations in the area.

In 2019 RIVA carried out the conservative restoration of the façades and of the sgraffiti: cleaning of the surfaces, consolidation of the multi-layer plasters and reintegration of the losses with the original technique, which incises the drawing into the surface layer to reveal the coloured ground.

The intervention brought the wall decorations back to light in their original colours.
