Villa San Remigio
Villa San Remigio, on the Castagnola promontory in Pallanza, was commissioned by Marquis Silvio Della Valle di Casanova and his wife, the Irish painter Sofia Browne, who from 1898 built the villa in an eclectic style, between Neoclassicism and Baroque references, and its gardens: the Italian garden with Baroque and Rococo statues, and the romantic English park. Since 1977 the villa has belonged to the Regione Piemonte.
Between 2017 and 2019 RIVA carried out the conservative restoration of the façades and decorations, in particular of the sgraffito decorations and of an oil painting, with cleaning, consolidation of the plasters and reintegration of the losses.
The intervention restored legibility to the decorated surfaces of one of the most refined residences on Lake Maggiore, a few kilometres from Leggiuno, where the company was born.
